Church of St. John of Nepomuk

The church was founded in 1845. Since the construction grew fast, bells transferred from the castle chapel could be hung on 2nd September 1846 and were rang on the following day for the first time. Cardinal Bedrich of Schwarzenberg sanctified the church with a great glory on 16th May 1847. The church was dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk, patron saint of the Schwarzenberg family, and since then Saint John's day is annually celebrated in Hluboka nad Vltavou on 16th May.
